Presidents / Directors

MENA Region

Dear Colleagues,

Improving the MENA Region schools and improving the quality of teacher preparation are synonymous concepts.  Indeed raising the quality of teaching in American schools stands above all other issues and is unmistakably the top priority education reform for the MENA Region.

We have as a Region closed the education gender gap and halved the literacy gap by almost 50 percent.  These achievements have contributed to the improvement in the quality of  life for citizens of the MENA Region.  However, educational quality assurance, accountability, national standards, teacher licensing and student centered teaching  remains low in our Region.

We have a unique opportunity at this time to collaborate with each other to build capacity, develop an infrastructure and to create a comprehensive Continuum of Quality Assurance through our institutions of higher education.

In order to advance teacher education, we ask that you respond to the short questionnaire attached to the memo in an effort to assess our collective commitment to advancing Quality Assurance for all the MENA Region children.

Sincerely,

Sulaimaan Al Jassim
Vice President
